Committee Information
As members of ANUW, options for personal growth are available through membership in our committees. Each of ANUW's committees offer a wealth of opportunity for personal and professional growth. Below are details of our specific committees. ANUW committee membership can enhance your experience at Northwestern University by increasing your communication with other university employees. The committees generally meet once a month, on either campus or by conference call.
Program Development Committee
This committee creates and develops ANUW sponsored events, including Brown Bag lunches, Winter and Spring event, and Holiday networking events. Membership on this committee can help enhance skills in conference planning, and human relations. Publicity Committee (aka Communications Committee)
This commitee creates, develops, and maintains all print media for ANUW, including the newsletter and flyers, as well as our web pages and electronic mailing list. Membership on this committee can help enhance skills in writing and editing, and web page and computer development. Membership Committee
This committee introduces ANUW to new university women employees. Functions of the committee include actively recruiting, sending introduction flyers and invitations for membership to new employees. Membership on this committee can help enhance skills in recruitment, interpersonal relationships, and networking. Board Members At Large
Member at Large: Women’s Center Liaison
- Ensure that an ANUW Board Member is in attendance at each NU Connections event
- Coordinate ANUW volunteers for the Holiday Luncheon (set up and clean up)
- Participate on the planning committee for Women Artists Behind the Desk
- Participate on the planning committee for Take Our Daughters to Work
- Attend ANUW Board meetings
Board Member at Large: Executives' Club Liaison
- Coordinate communication between ANUW Board and Executives’ Club of Chicago – confirm ANUW’s participation as a co-organizational sponsor (frequency – yearly); provide information to Executives’ Club regarding complimentary ticket recipients (frequency – approximately every three months)
- Prepare email announcing Executives’ Club Women’s Breakfast to ANUW members and send to ANUW List Serv manager
- Attend ANUW Board meetings
Board Member at Large: General
- Act as an advisor to the Board
- Attend ANUW Board meetings
