LOOKING FOR SOMETHING FUN TO DO?

Student Organizations & Activities

Student Organizations & Activities seeks to engage students in involvement opportunities that build a sense of belonging and community at Northwestern University. Students have the opportunity to participate in over 400 student organizations on campus or create one of their own. Our office provides support, advising, and training for students and their organizations. We encourage students to visit us to find their passion, develop ideas, and think creatively about their student organizations.

Want to explore Evanston and Chicago but need a little encouragement or guidance? SOA is here to help! We sponsor several trips each year off-campus. Transportation is often provided, and there is no event cost to students who attend. These opportunities often fill up quickly on a first-come-first-serve basis. Want to know what we're planning next?

NU Nights

NU Nights is a student-run organization that hosts free alternative events for the Northwestern community. We provide both on and off-campus programming that usually runs from 8pm to 11pm (typically, but not always, on Fridays). Our goal is to unite our campus community through these activities.

For more information about getting involved with the planning committee, contact NU Nights via email
Like them on Facebook at Facebook.com/NUNights and follow them on Instagram @nu_nights to learn about the group's upcoming events! You can also stay connected via their Discord.

Dillo Day

Armadillo Day began in 1972 when Northwestern University Texans held a small celebration in honor of the official mammal of their home state. More than 40 years later, Dillo Day is the largest student-run music festival in the nation, hosted on Northwestern's Lakefill on the shore of Lake Michigan. Nationally and locally known artists play two stages, and the Dillo Village hosts all-day food and activities for the 12,000 festival attendees. Mayfest Productions, a student organization, plans and produces Dillo Day every year for the Northwestern community.

A&O Productions

A&O Productions has provided Northwestern University undergraduates with top-notch large-scale programming since its inception in 1969. Interested in booking concerts or speakers, producing shows, screening films on a 35mm projector, promoting events across campus, working in the entertainment industry, or just want to be backstage? A&O is the group for you!

PlanIt Purple offers additional events taking place across campus.
