Thank you to all who attended the first event in AHEAD@NU’s winter 2014 series. The topic this quarter is Massive Open Online Courses, or MOOCs.
In February 2013 Northwestern announced that it had partnered with Coursera to provide selected Northwestern courses through Coursera’s digital platform for free, to tens of thousands of people. A number of individuals, units and committees have been involved in the development and launch of Northwestern’s MOOCs. Representatives of NUIT, School of Continuing Studies and Provost’s Office led a discussion about Northwestern's motivations for offering MOOCS and how high-level decisions about the Coursera partnership and how to support MOOCs were made. Thank you to our distinguished panelists for their time!
