Linda Emanuel, MD, PhD is the Health Section Director of the Ford Motor Company Center for Global Citizenship at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. She is also the Director of the Ford Center's Medical and Biotech Initiative at the Kellogg School of Management.
Presbyterian Homes
The Buehler Center has developed an affiliation with Presbyterian Homes in Evanston, IL. Celia Berdes, MSPH, PhD, is the Director of Research at Presbyterian Homes, and directs research on people receiving long-term residential care, focusing on the correlates between quality of care and satisfaction with care; research on residents and their caregivers, focusing on the role of affective relationships in quality of care; and research on long-term care environments, focusing on organizational culture and quality of care. She is also responsible for optimizing the research-related skills of Presbyterian Homes' staff, and facilitating access of academically-based researchers to carry out research at Presbyterian Homes facilities.
Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago
The Buehler Center is collaborating with the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC) on a R13 grant to put on a series of annual conferences for physicians, allied health professionals, and clinical researchers to foster greater collaborations among colleagues in palliative and rehabilitative medicine and to demonstrate parallels and contrasts in clinical care, ethical issues, and social needs between palliative and rehabilitative medicine.
Cells to Society (C2S)
The goal of Cells to Society (C2S): The Center on Social Disparities and Health at Northwestern University's Institute for Policy Research is to integrate the social, behavioral, biomedical, and life sciences to illuminate pathways contributing to health inequalities.

Warren Barr Pavilion is a skilled nursing facility specializing in Rehabilitation and Alzheimer's care located in the heart of Chicago's Gold Coast. Warren Barr has been specifically designed to help residents who can no longer live alone maintain their independence while receiving the care they need.

Northwestern Memorial Hospital Palliative Care Program
The Northwestern Memorial Hospital Palliative Care Program provides care to patients and family members when pain and other symptoms impair their quality of life. The team is composed of physicians, nurses, social workers, pastoral counselors, bereavement counselors, volunteers and other healthcare professionals that focus on relieving pain and other distressing symptoms to patients with acute or chronic illnesses. Buehler Center faculty members Joshua Hauser, MD, and Michael Preodor, MD, are clinically active in the Palliative Care Program.
Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center
The Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University is dedicated to advancing medical knowledge and revealing scientific discoveries. It is the only "comprehensive" cancer center in Illinois and one of only 40 in the nation. In addition, the Cancer Center is a founding member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, an exclusive alliance of 19 of the nation's leading cancer centers.
Council for Jewish Elderly
Council for Jewish Elderly has at its core a deep and abiding commitment to Jewish communal values and the dignity of the older person. CJE's range of services extends from assisting those who live in their own homes, but need occasional physical or psychological support, to those who need the most protection and care in a long term care facility. CJE's services are provided in Chicago and the suburbs. Herbert Sier, MD, Associate Chief, Division of Geriatric Medicine serves as the Vice President of Medical Affairs at Council for Jewish Elderly.
