Research Ethics in Uganda

Course Directors:
Kearsley Stewart (Anthropology, Northwestern University) and Seggane Musisi (Psychiatry, Makerere University)

Stewart and Musisi, both 2002 Fulbright New Century Scholars, are recipients
of a Fulbright New Century Scholar Institutional Partnership Grant (NCS-IPG)
to develop an institutional linkage between Makerere and Northwestern Universities and to encourage an intellectual exchange between American and Ugandan scholars on research ethics in health research in Uganda.

The NCS-IPG grant will support a six-month electronic workshop between 20-25 Ugandan participants and Makerere and Northwestern faculty.

The final product is the publication of a collection of research ethics case studies written by the Ugandan participants.
