Consortium for Development Partnerships (CDP)

In July 2004, a group of universities, research centers and non-governmental organizations came together to form an international consortium devoted to conducting collaborative and transformative research and capacity-building activities. Through long-term partnerships among its African, American and European members, CDP will foster progress in three key areas:

• Democracy Building and Improving State Capacity
• Private Sector Growth and Poverty Reduction
• Regionalism and Peacebuilding

Under the co-leadership of PAS and the Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA), CDP is dedicated to executing a locally-generated research agenda whose findings will foster positive change in targeted countries. Capacity building and training activities will contribute to the strengthening of key institutions, including consortium member organizations.

The CDP 2006- 2009 implementation phase will focus on Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte D’Ivoire, Ghana, Mali and Nigeria.

Regular updates on CDP activities, publications and events will be posted to this website. For more information, please contact Coura Badiane, CDP and PAS Outreach Coordinator.
