The following courses may be counted toward the Undergraduate Minor in African Studies and the Graduate Certificate in African Studies.

(Please note that in order to have a 300-level count for graduate-level credit, the graduate student must get the instructor's permission to register for an Independent Study (499). The graduate student is then expected to complete graduate-level course work.)

Students may also register for Independent Study 399-0 (undergraduate) or Independent Study 499-0 (graduate), for African Studies credit through a number of departments with Africanist faculty (Political Science, Sociology, Theatre, etc.). Please contact PAS for more information about registering for an independent study course.
