CAREER DEVELOPMENT
Academic Services encourages student-athletes
to develop and pursue career and life goals. To
this end, Academic Services has teamed up with
University Career Services (UCS). Together, we
have developed workshops and resources, and provide
individual assistance to best serve this goal.
|
|
COMMUNITY SERVICE
The community service program provides student-athletes
with the opportunity to assist others in Evanston
and the surrounding area. Some of the volunteer
opportunities include tutoring/mentoring children,
reading to elementary classes, and programs for
senior citizens.
|
Academic Services often receives
job postings for full-time and part-time positions,
in addition to internships and summer jobs.
The jobs are posted to the listserv and are
available in binders located in Academic Services.
Student-athletes are also encouraged to check
the postings on the UCS
web site.
|
The C.A.T.S. Lifeskills Program
focuses on five major components- academic excellence,
athletic excellence, personal development, community
service and career development. The C.A.T.S. program
provides student-athletes with choices and opportunities
to assist them in maximizing their experiences
in the classroom, on the playing field, and within
the community.
|
|
Academic Services' Workshop topics include
The Freshman Introduction, Finding an Internship,
Finding a Summer Job, and Senior Resumes.
|
 |
If you are interested in volunteering
in the community, please see Betsi in Academic
Services.
ALL COMMUNITY SERVICE ACTIVITIES MUST BE PRE-APPROVED
BY ACADEMIC SERVICES AND THE COMPLIANCE OFFICE.
