Academic Services
aids student-athletes in meeting the rigorous academic
environment of Northwestern University. In addition
to providing academic support, Academic Services utilizes
the career development facet of the C.A.T.S.
Lifeskills program. The Career Development program
offers a variety of resources and assists student-athletes
in the transition from college to career.
One of these transitions is transferring
the demonstrated skills of collegiate athletes (leadership,
discipline, sportsmanship, integrity, and teamwork)
into desirable traits of successful career professionals.
While at Northwestern, student-athletes are encouraged
to pursue internships, practicums, summer jobs, co-operative
learning (engineering students), teaching media (Medill
journalism students), and other opportunities to prepare
them for employment after graduation. The department,
in conjunction with Northwestern's University
Career Services center, offers the following resources:
Campus Career Fairs, Career Development
Workshops, On-Campus Interviews, Resume and Cover
Letter Writing, JobTrak Database, Mock Interviews,
Job Search Strategies, Career Counseling, and Graduate
School Selection Assistance.
In order to extend career opportunities to our student-athletes,
we will require you to follow certain guidelines when
you participate in any of our activities. Click here to

Guidelines now. You can also view the guidelines later
while submitting a request to hire student athletes.
