Myrtil Nioka Mitanga

Myrtil Mitanga is a junior studying cello performance at the Bienen School of Music. Studying with a renowned cellist was an opportunity Mitanga seized even before she started college. The summer before her senior year of high school, Mitanga came to Northwestern to study with internationally recognized professor, Hans Jorgen Jensen. 

“During those few weeks I improved so much that I absolutely wanted to work with him for the next four years,” she says. Now Mitanga is doing just that. 

She tends to her nonmusical interests as well. A business institutions minor, Mitanga is also co-chair of the German Undergraduate Advisory Board.
