The Northwestern University football team will take on the University of Michigan in a night game Saturday at Ryan Field, the first home game since students returned to campus in September. For freshmen and other first-time attendees, there are several time-honored Northwestern traditions that should be learned.

To help in that effort, head football coach Pat Fitzgerald recently hosted a "Wildside 101" event to instruct students in the proper way to effectively root for the Wildcats. Organized by the Wildside, Northwestern's official student spirit group, the session included a tutorial on how to sing the school fight song and reviewed several other Ryan Field traditions. Watch the video above for a full recap.
