Sweet Way to Shop

New app lets users shop deals in Evanston

By Jasmine Rangel

SweetPerk, a new app developed by a team of Northwestern students, allows shoppers to leave their coupons behind and instead use their smart phones to redeem special offers from downtown Evanston merchants.

Available for download May 26, SweetPerk is a version of Evanston’s “passport” shopping discount program. Yum! It includes, for example, deals from Andy’s Frozen Custard and Tiny Dog Cupcake Shop

SweetPerk came out of a NUVention course. An academic partnership created by the Farley Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, NUVention draws on student talent throughout the university.

For more information on how to download the app, visit http://ecommerce.nuvention-dev.org/
