Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day April 28

With a theme of “Invent the Future,” the celebrations on the University’s Evanston and Chicago campuses are open to the relatives and friends of Northwestern University faculty and staff. The registration and payment deadline due to the Women’s Center is April 21 in Chicago, and April 22 in Evanston. Late registrants must add a $5 fee.

Northwestern’s daylong 17th annual celebration aims to expose pre-teens and teens to workplace roles open to women and men. On the Evanston campus, participants can select from 31 career-related sessions, including the new Be a Radio Star with WNUR, a behind-the-scenes look at a radio station, or Sweet Science: Edible Science and Liquid Nitrogen Ice Cream, a workshop that explores chemistry through fun edible experiments.

On the Chicago campus, where 11 sessions are offered, participants can provide simulated medical care to a computerized life-size mannequin that mimics many of the physiologic responses of patients receiving care in an operating room, emergency room or intensive care unit, during the COSMO – Patient Simulator workshop, also new this year.
