Electronic Transcripts Now Available

Current students, graduates now can order official documents for fast, secure delivery

EVANSTON, Ill. --- Ordering official Northwestern University transcripts just got easier. They are available now for secure delivery in the form of a certified electronic file.

Northwestern has contracted with Avow Systems, Inc. to distribute secure official transcripts via certified PDF, which automatically validates to recipients that the documents were authored and sent by Northwestern University and that the contents have not been altered.

The Office of the Registrar cites growing demand from employers, universities and alumni for the change.

Electronic delivery of the official transcript is available at this time only to current students and students who graduated from Northwestern in August 2000 and after from the following schools/programs: all undergraduates, the Graduate School, graduate programs in the School of Education and Social Policy, McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science, Medill School of Journalism, Bienen School of Music, the School of Communication and the Kellogg School of Management.

Future plans will extend the electronic service to students who graduated from the above schools/programs prior to August 2000.

Electronic delivery is the easiest, quickest and least expensive way to obtain an official copy of the transcript. The typical electronic delivery will occur within a couple of hours, much faster than the standard paper processing time of two business days plus mailing time.

Electronic transcripts are $8 each. Paper transcripts are $10 for normal delivery and $25 for immediate service.

Visit the Office of the Registrar for more information and links to the electronic delivery service.
