Top Peace Corps Producer

With 32 graduates in the program, it is the 11th consecutive year that Northwestern has been among the top 25 Corps-producing schools.

“These volunteers are applying the skills and knowledge they acquired during their time at Northwestern to help improve the lives of people across the globe,” said Aaron Williams, Peace Corps director.

Today more than 8,600 volunteers –- the highest number in 40 years -- are serving in 77 countries.

In 1961, President John F. Kennedy launched the Peace Corps to spearhead progress in developing countries and promote friendship between the American people and other men, women and children throughout the world. Since its inception, more than 200,000 Americans have provided assistance to communities in 139 countries.
