Medill alumna Lauren Bohn is reporting and tweeting about her experiences in Egypt, where she is a Fulbright scholar taking classes in Middle East studies at the American University in Cairo and freelance reporting.

Before moving to Cairo, Bohn had high hopes for her Fulbright experience that seem even more prescient today.

“It’s my hope that my Fulbright experience will enhance my capacity to talk to the public about the Middle East — that it will serve as a springboard for journalism that broadens and deepens the public dialogue,” Bohn said last November in an interview with Northwestern News. Bohn graduated in June 2010 with a master’s degree from Medill.

You can follow Bohn on Twitter and read the stories she is reporting from Egypt.
