Listen to President Schapiro's Convocation Remarks

Donning their purple Class of 2013 t-shirts, new freshmen began their second week on campus with the President's Convocation at Pick-Staiger Concert Hall. The event featured remarks from new University President Morton Schapiro and other university officials, as well as musical performances by the Northwestern University Marching Band and student a capella group Brown Sugar.

After the convocation, freshmen attended a picnic brunch at the John Evans Alumni Center hosted by the Northwestern Alumni Association and the Division of Student Affairs.

The Wildcat Welcome activities concluded in the evening when students convened at their individual schools for orientation and welcoming sessions with the schools' deans and faculty.
