Michael Smith on the State of Print Journalism


Michael Smith comments on the stressful time for print media and points out not all newspapers are undergoing the same struggles.

Layoffs continue at large newspapers around the country such as the Los Angeles Times, Washington Post, Chicago Tribune and the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel as publishers try to cope with diminished ad revenue. Michael Smith is executive director of Northwestern University’s Media Management Center and says not all newspapers are experiencing dire times.
