June 2006 Music Calendar

Northwestern University's June music highlights include the School of Music's two final concerts scheduled for the 2005-06 season -- the University's Symphonic Band (June 2) and the Symphony Orchestra (June 3).

Events listed below will be held on Northwestern's Evanston campus at Pick-Staiger Concert Hall, 50 Arts Circle Drive, as noted below.

JUNE 2006

Symphonic Band, 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 2, Pick-Staiger Concert Hall. Ryan Nelson will conduct the University's Symphonic Band during a program that will include Malcolm Arnold's “Tam O'Shanter Overture,” Timothy Broege's “Sinfonia V,” Michael Gandolfi's “Vientos y Tangos” and David Gillingham's Concertino for Four Percussion and Wind Ensemble. Tickets are $6.50 for the general public; $4.50 for senior citizens and Northwestern faculty and staff; and $3.50 for students.

Northwestern University Symphony Orchestra, 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 3, Pick-Staiger Concert Hall. Victor Yampolsky will conduct a program that will include Sergei Prokofiev's Sinfonia Concertante and Sergei Rachmaninoff's Symphony No. 2 in E Minor. Anna Burden will be the cello soloist. Tickets are $8.50 for the general public; $7 for senior citizens and Northwestern faculty and staff; and $4 for students.
