Baylor President to Address Medical Grads

Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine will hold graduation ceremonies at 3:30 p.m. Friday, May 19, in the Navy Pier Grand Ballroom.

Peter G. Traber, M.D., president and chief executive office of Baylor College of Medicine, will be the speaker at the graduation.

Traber, who graduated from the Feinberg School in 1986, has had a long career in academic medicine involved in patient care, education and research as well as leadership positions in the pharmaceutical industry.

The Feinberg School class of 2006 includes 151 students who will receive an M.D. degree, including five who will receive a combined M.D./Ph.D. degree.

A majority of the class (27) will enter a residency program in internal medicine. Twenty students will begin postgraduate training in pediatrics; eight in anesthesiology; nine in general surgery; five in orthopedic surgery; 14 in emergency medicine; and seven in obstetrics and gynecology.
