Northwestern Ranked 16 for Peace Corps Volunteers

Northwestern University is again ranked in the top 25 of medium-size schools for the contributions of its alumni to the Peace Corps.

Thirty alumni are serving this year, putting Northwestern at No. 16 and tied with the University of Notre Dame. Since the Peace Corps’ inception, 824 alumni have joined, making Northwestern the No. 37 producer of volunteers.

Peace Corps volunteers serve for 27 months around the world in diverse fields such as education, health, HIV/AIDS education and prevention, information technology, business development, the environment and agriculture. Most volunteers are college graduates.

Among medium-size schools, the University of Virginia ranked No. 1 this year with 80 volunteers. University of Wisconsin at Madison is listed No. 1 overall with 104 volunteers serving.
