Chaplain Stevens Named Head of Religious Group

University Chaplain Timothy Stevens has been elected president of the Association of College and University Religious Affairs (ACURA).

Chaplain Stevens will serve a two-year term as president of ACURA. He has previously served as vice president and secretary/treasurer. He has completed 19 tears as university chaplain at Northwestern.

ACURA is a national collegium of college and university chaplains, deans of religious life, and directors and coordinators of religious affairs. ACURA is an ecumenical and interfaith group of women and men who serve as religious life administrators and currently includes 30 institutions of higher education.

The group meets annually, for a two and one-half day consultation, rotating the hosting on a regional basis. ACURA focuses on the role of religion in higher education and seeks to address the professional concerns of its members, most of whom are responsible for encouraging and supporting a mission that is ecumenical and inclusive of all faiths.
