Find health care services, resources Oct. 12

Northwestern University’s 10th Annual Health and Benefits Fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday (Oct. 12) in the Louis Room and surrounding area of Norris University Center.

The goal is to increase awareness about health care options for 2005, personal health and well-being, and professional services and other resources available to employees, students and alumni.

Information from more than 50 different professional groups and services will be available. 

Hosted by the department of athletics and recreation and the Benefits Division of the department of human resources, participants will have the opportunity to obtain informational materials and speak with health care, insurance and investment company representatives who can further outline their benefit programs, answer questions and highlight special options.

The fair will provide the opportunity to learn about benefit plan options provided by the University.

Free health and fitness screenings also will be available.

Sodexho and Norris Center Catering will provide free food and recipes.

Free specialty classes in pilates and yoga will be offered as well an ask-the-trainer booth.

Participants also will have a chance to win an annual Northwestern University parking permit, sporting event tickets, a one-year membership to the Henry Crown Sports Pavilion and Norris Aquatics Center, a gift certificate for a one-night stay and complimentary breakfast at the Lincolnshire-Marriott, gift baskets and other prizes.

A schedule, list and map of exhibitors, activities and offerings will be available to participants on the day of the event. 

Northwestern’s department of athletics and recreation, Benefits Division, Norris University Center, Sodexho and Norris Center Catering sponsors the event.
